Suspect arrested for threatening to shoot up courthouse

STILLWATER, Okla. — Stillwater police have arrested a suspect who threatened to buy an assault rifle and shoot up the Payne County courthouse, police said.

Police Capt. Randy Dickerson said the suspect was told by District Judge Phillip Corley that he needed to find a job to pay his fines or face jail.

Dickerson said the suspect entered an employment office and told an employee that a judge was after him to pay his fines and if he didn't get a job he was going to get an assault rifle, go to the courthouse and unload some clips.

Dickerson said after police learned of the suspect's comments they made a probable cause arrest.
