STILLWATER, Okla. — Stillwater police are investigating allegations of sexual assault committed by a former member of the FarmHouse fraternity, department spokesman Capt. Randy Dickerson said Friday.

Dickerson said he received information Thursday that numerous sexual assaults have been committed in and around Stillwater. In the next 24 hours, the police sought additional information.

"Once we possessed enough credible information to warrant such action, I instructed our Criminal Investigation Division to open a criminal investigation into the matter," he said.

Investigators had spoken to two men who claim to be victims of various sexual assaults as of Friday evening, Dickerson said.

The police department now believes there may be many possible victims of sexual assaults committed by one suspect, who police believe is a former member of FarmHouse fraternity, Dickerson said. The sexual assaults were committed in several jurisdictions, including Stillwater, Dickerson said.

"We will continue our investigation, working with other affected jurisdictional agencies as appropriate," Dickerson said.

The investigation is in its preliminary stages, Dickerson said.

"For that reason I do not anticipate releasing additional information or updates until next week," he said.

The police department's investigation developed after it learned the Oklahoma State University's office of Student Conduct Education and Administration had conducted an investigation into allegations that a FarmHouse member had sexually assaulted new members after the fraternity notified the Interfraternity Council and the student conduct office of the assaults.
