Car show returns to Yale

STILLWATER, Okla. — The Sizzlin Summer Cruz N car show returns to Yale on Saturday for the fourth summer in a row.

There are categories for motorcycles, tractors, race cars, off road and kit cars. Contestants pay $20 the day of the show to enter their vehicles.

Trophies will be warded to all classes, and the first 100 entries will receive a plaque for participation.

The Yale Police Department puts together the event to raise money for Make A Wish Foundation.

Make A Wish kids will also come out to enjoy the festivities on Saturday.

“It’s just an event to help out,” Police Chief Phillip Kelly said. “We make a donation to Make A Wish when it’s over.”

Other entertainment includes a variety of vendors, bounce houses, music, door prizes, inflatable laser tag and Candyland Circus of Magical Wonders. Big Top Circus with numerous animals is a new addition to the event this year. There will also be a blood drive and a Guns N’ Hoses competition between the police department and fire department.

“It’s just all in fun,” Kelly said. “It’s going to be a good time.”

The show will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Jim Thorpe Park, 900 E. Erie Ave. There is no cost for admission.
