STILLWATER, Okla. — Payne County Budget Board will have a special meeting Friday to discuss the change in sales tax funding for the two road districts.
County commissioners voted 2-1 in early May to give District 3 the larger piece of a 65/35 split in sales tax instead of the even division. Sales tax is allocated annually on July 1, which is the start of the fiscal year.
The budget board must approve next year’s budget before then. Board members will meet at 10 a.m. Friday in Suite 203 of the County Administration Building, 315 W. Sixth Ave.
