Rev. Jesse Jackson at Stillwater courthouse for Darrell Williams sentencing

STILLWATER, Okla. — The Rev. Jesse Jackson arrives at Payne County Courthouse in Stillwater Friday prior to Oklahoma State University athlete Darrell Williams' sentencing on convictions of rape by instrumentation and sexual battery.

Jackson spoke at a forum in support of Williams Thursday at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Stillwater and urged his supporters to be at the courthouse Friday.

Williams was convicted last month. The basketball player maintains he is innocent. Two women testified he assaulted them at a party.

Williams' attorneys have appealed his conviction and say they have new evidence that will discredit a witness who testified against Williams.
