STILLWATER, Okla. — Every Thursday night through the end of the spring the Stillwater Multi-Arts Center holds a glassblowing class taught by Mark Gregory. Students are able to learn hands on how to create glass pieces of art.
Each glass piece takes about 45 minutes to complete depending on the size of the piece.
Students place a blow pipe into a heated tank containing the glass used to start the project. The blow pipe is used to create a bubble inside of the molten glass. The glass is then heated again using two smaller ovens and formed into its desired shape using wet wooden blocks. Once the project is finished it is removed from the blow pipe and placed in a box to cool.
