Three people, including an engaged couple, are recovering in hospitals after a Monday shooting incident in the 10,000 block of 32nd Street west of Stillwater.

Payne County Sheriff R.B. Hauf said a female victim who was shot in the jaw sustained injuries that are not life threatening. A male was shot twice. Deputies say the victims are in their 20s.

Authorities said they believe the couple was shot with a revolver found at the home.

The suspect  was injured as family members tackled him. Deputies said his face and side were injured. Doctors had to insert a tube to help the man breathe.

Capt Kevin Woodward said the male victim and the suspect had surgery Tuesday. Because of their injuries, neither the suspect nor the male victim have been able to speak with police. Hauf added deputies believe the male victim is the suspect’s nephew.

After authorities interview the male victim, he said, the Sheriff Department will release their names.

Hauf said deputies are at a Tulsa hospital with the suspect. He  said the suspect could possibly face charges of shooting with intent to kill.

The two gunshot victims were taken to OU Medical Center.
