Patsy Sue Willerton

Patsy Sue Willerton, resident of Ponca City, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at Ponca City Medical Center. She was 72.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Stanton officiating. Burial will then follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of the Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Patsy was born on March 20, 1941, to Glen Cranford and Katherine (Montgomery) Cranford in Webb City. She attended school in Arkansas City, Kan. and was married in June 1959, celebrating the birth of her son, Jim in 1960. She was married to Kenneth Willerton on Dec. 22, 1966, in Ponca City.

Patsy worked at Holly’s & Harters dress shops in Ponca City. She then was employed by Sears as assistant manager for many years. After moving to Stillwater, she worked a short time for Sears before joining the Payne County Assessors office, from which she retired in 1999. She was involved in the Ponca City Business Professional Women and the Payne Co. Assessors Association. Patsy was loved by her co-workers and made many lifelong friends.

She loved to paint in oil, crochet, and spend time with her grandchildren, with whom she and Kenneth enjoyed several vacations.

She is survived by husband, Kenneth Willerton of the home; son, Jim Kelly and wife Donna of Ponca City; granddaughter, Aubrey Andersen and husband Wayne of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; grandson, Chase Kelly and wife Robyn of Greenwood, Mo; great-grandchildren. Bayler, Cayden, Gavyn and Quaid Andersen and Felix Grace Kelly; brother, Wayne Cranford and wife Sue and sister, Connie Green, all of Ponca City; and stepson Tim Willerton of Tonkawa.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and sisters Glenda Jones, Delores Simmons, and Donna Newlin.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Buddy Wilkins, Wesley Green, Ryan Green, Darrin Cranford, Dustin Cranford, and Jason Newlin. Honorary pallbearers are Shane Green, Devin Newlin and Kevin Newlin, also nephews of Patsy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make A Wish, Missouri, 600 Kellwood Parkway, Chesterfield, MO 63017 in honor of Patsy Willerton, great grandmother of Gavyn Andersen wish recepient.

The family will be at 1331 Quail Lane, Ponca City.
