Leona Mae Bates, 95, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 in Stillwater, Okla. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Leroy Hawkins officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Leona was born near Chandler, Okla., on Aug. 13, 1917 to David Francis and Rosa (Denny) Anderson. She married Roy C. Bates on August 26, 1932 in Lincoln County, Okla. Leona was a member of the First            Assembly of God.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Roy Arthur Bates; brothers, Elmer, Donald and Ray   Anderson; sisters, Donna Kirkpatrick, Fay Bales, Nola Brooks and an infant sister; and four grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Zona Marie Huber, of Stillwater, Okla.; daughter, Betty Catherine Estlinbaum, of Bethany, Okla.; son, Orville Earl Bates, of Marlow, Okla.; daughter, Mary E. Hall, of Stillwater, Okla.; daughter, Linda Sue Metcalf, of Stillwater, Okla.; daughter, Connie Sanders, of Stillwater, Okla.; brother, Elvin Anderson; 22 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
