Stan Bailey

Stan Bailey, 60, of Stillwater, passed from this life on Sept. 11, 2012.  Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 11:00am on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel.  Public visitation will be held from 8am to 8pm on Friday and from 1pm-6pm on Saturday.

Stanley D. Bailey was born on June 25, 1952 to Dewey Bailey Jr. and Dorothy Marie Fanning.  He grew up and attended schools in the Stockton, CA area.  Following his high school graduation, Stan joined the US Army and was stationed in Ft. Hood, TX.  After serving his country for two years, he moved to Superior, AZ to become a magma copper miner.

In 1994, Stan relocated to Mannford, OK  and became a truck driver for J.B. Hunt, a job he enjoyed until medical issues forced him to retire in 2008.Following his retirement, Stan moved to Stillwater, OK to be closer to his best friend, his sister Therresa Bailey.

Stan enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and classic cars.  He loved to hang out and eat tater tots and gravy and drink tea with his friends at The Ice House in Stillwater.  More than anything else, Stan loved being an over protective brother and spending time with his sister. He was a kind man who enjoyed making other people smile. Stan was a practical joker and never passed up an opportunity to give his friends and family a hard time.  Stan valued relationships more than material things, so he leaves behind many friends who will miss him deeply.  Stan was a good man, a dedicated brother, and a loyal friend.

Stan Bailey is survived by his two sisters: Therresa Lynn Bailey-Hartman of Stillwater, OK and Nancy Marie Stroud of Bayside, TX.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Condolences can be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.pmcfh.com or on facebook at www.facebook.com/pmcfh
