Everett Webster Lovell, 85, passed away on February 18, 2012 in Stillwater, Okla. There will be a visitation Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at Strode Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. His service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Glencoe, Okla. Reverend Joe Robinson will be officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born on January 10, 1927 to Everett W. Lovell Sr. and Eva June Robinson in Stillwater, Okla.
He attended Stillwater schools, graduating from Stillwater High School in 1945. Immediately after graduation from high school, Everett was drafted into the Army and served in the European Theater of Operations of World War II. Upon discharge from the Army, he attended Oklahoma A&M College, now Oklahoma State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. Everett was hired by the United States Department of Agriculture after graduating from college. He held the position of District Supervisor for the Farmers Home Administration for many years, eventually retiring in 1986. Upon retirement from the FHA, Everett became President of the Pawnee National Bank in Pawnee, Okla. He held this position for several years before taking full retirement. In addition, he was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Everett served as a board member for the Bethel Cemetery, as well as the Central Oklahoma Economic Development District. Everett spent many years serving as the Chairman of the Board for 51 East Rural Water, Inc. He spent his retirement years doing what he loved on his farm and spending time with his family.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pauline Hubbard.
Everett is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Kathryn Schroeder Lovell, of the home. He is also survived by three children: Keith R. Lovell and wife Kathleen, Linda K. Cagle, and John E. Lovell and wife Pamela. In addition, Everett is survived by six grandchildren: Mandy Davis and husband Shawn of Elkhart, Kansas, Colby Cagle and wife Jennifer of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Travis Cagle and wife Autumn of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Nathan Lovell of Stillwater, Matthew Lovell and wife Mindy of Stillwater, Eric Lovell of Stillwater. Everett is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in Everett’s name to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) at 825 N.E. 13th, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
