Leon Parker "Pete" Davis Jr., 66, of Stillwater, Okla. passed away on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at Stillwater Medical Center. Pete was born on Jan. 10, 1946 in Okmulgee, Okla., to Leon and Lela Hawthorne Davis.

Pete attended Okmulgee High School and was on the All State Football team in 1964.

Pete went on to play football for the University of Kansas. He transferred to Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a degree in Geology.

Pete was a drill sergeant in the U.S. Army 95th division. Pete married Kate Ewing in Oct. 1978. They had one daughter, Hanna, in 1983. Pete worked as a geologist in the oil field and later for the Department of Environmental Quality. He will be remembered for his kind smile and contagious laugh.

Pete is survived by his daughter, Hanna Hensley, of Oklahoma City, Okla., his grandsons, Parker and Easton Hensley, his sister, Ann Dohrmann, of Perry, Okla., and his brother, Bob Davis, of Stillwater, Okla. A memorial service for Pete will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at 10:30 am at First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater, Okla.
