Charles William Barton Sr., 64, died on Nov. 9, 2013, at his home in Glencoe. At his request, there will be no services. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Charles was born on April 22, 1949, to Robert Ruben and Margaret Bertha (Buchanan) Barton in Severn, Md.. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. After the war, he entered the workforce as a cabinet maker.
He married Betty Jean Rogers, but the couple later divorced. He remarried to Bonnie Singer until her death and married his third wife, Margaret Diana Langley, on July 26, 2013. Charles enjoyed telling jokes, spending time outdoors fishing and indoors at the casino.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Barton; and his second wife, Bonnie Singer.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Barton, of the home; mother, Margaret Barton; son, Charles “Chip” W. Barton Jr., of Mt. Airy, Md.; daughters, Shannon J. Barton and Adrienne Castle, both of Glen Burnie, Md.; brother, Robert Barton, of Hanover, Md.; grandson, Benjaman Kyle Barton; and granddaughter, Andrea Michelle Barton.
