Cade John Poulos

Cade John Poulos, 13, of Stillwater, passed from this life on Sept. 26, 2012.  Funeral services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 at Lifechurch.tv.  .  Friends are invited to come to the funeral home on Monday between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. to sign a banner for the Poulos family, as well as to sign Cade’s casket.

Cade was born on Feb. 22, 1999, to Jay and Shae (Hilgesen) Poulos in Stillwater, Okla. He grew up and attended schools in Stillwater and played the violin in the Stillwater Middle School and Stillwater Junior High School Orchestra. He attended the Eagle Heights Baptist Church Awanas for many years and rededicated his life to the Lord at Lifechurch.tv the week before his passing.

Cade was a loving, funny and articulate kid who was well known for his Bill Cosby impersonation, his huge heart, and his curly red afro.  Cade was very proud of his red hair and was affectionately referred to as “Carrot Top” by his friends.  He thought the best part of having his hair was when the girls in his class would ask to touch it and Cade would smile, lean over, and say “sure!”  Cade was always a gentleman. He was always asking to carry his friend’s books or backpacks for them and he never missed the opportunity to hold a door open for a girl.  Cade was also very protective of his sister, his cousins Megan, Matthew and Maddie and his friends and was always looking out for the best interest of others.

Cade was a deep thinker who was intelligent beyond his years. He enjoyed reading books, riding go-carts, collecting comic books, and he could out eat the majority of his family, especially when it came to his favorite food, tomatoes.  He was an avid movie watcher who loved playing with his dogs, Jackie and Izuna.  He was never happier than when he was surrounded by his parents, brother and sister, and his cousins. His closest male role models, his father and brother Nathan were near and dear to his heart. Cade Poulos was a loving son, a caring brother, a dedicated student, and a loyal and gentle friend.  He packed more enjoyment and memories into 13 years of life than most people would experience in 100 years.

Cade was preceded in death by his great grandparents: James Hilgesen, Corinne Ziegler Hilgesen,  Ruby Fennell Manuel, John Manuel, and  Great Aunt Audrey Kalous.

He is survived by his parents: Jay and Shae Poulos of Stillwater, Okla.  A brother and sister:  Nathanael James Poulos and Alexandria Patricia Poulos, both of Stillwater, Okla.  Grandparents: Patricia and Raymond Fancher of Cushing, Okla. Winona Hilgeson of Murrieta, Calif., James and Pamela Hilgesen of Lee High Acres, Fla., Richard Poulos of Big Sandy, Tenn., and Ron and Wanda Poulos of Wilmington, Ill. as well as many other cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Cade Poulos Memorial Fund Account No. 5251811 at Stillwater National Bank. PO Box 1988 Stillwater, OK 74076

Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guest book at www.pmcfh.com or on facebook  at www.facebook.com/pmcfh.
