Juanita Brock

Juanita L. Brock, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, in the Linwood Village Nursing Home at the age of 94.

The daughter of the late Schuyler Marshall and Mintie Foster Marshall, Juanita was born on Dec. 4, 1918, in Avery and was raised in Coyle.

Juanita was united in marriage to Roy Brock on Oct. 12, 1940, in Pawnee.  The couple moved to Cushing in 1946 and to this union three children, Kay, Marsha and Roy, Jr. were born. Roy preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1997.

Juanita was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.  She enjoyed sewing, working word search puzzles, baking pies, playing dominoes and solitaire and listening to blue grass music.  

Survivors include daughter, Marsha Harmon and her husband Chuck of Cushing; son, Roy Brock Jr. and his wife Susan of Perkins; six grandchildren, Shelly Walker and her husband Jim of Phoenix, Scott Cobb of Phoenix, Charla Dobson and Ron Burns of Cushing, Jamie Clinesmith and her husband Trevor of Perkins, Collin Houston of Stillwater and Bethany Brock and Taylor Seales of Stillwater; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Juanita was preceded in death by one daughter, Kay Cobb-Brock; one grandson, Brett Cobb; four sisters, Hazel Robinson, Fern VanGilder, Laura Marshall and Marie Pollard; three brothers, Howard Marshall, Ed Marshall and Lloyd Marshall and one baby infant baby brother, Henry.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, with Larry Haney officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarkson Cemetery, Coyle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in her honor.

Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.
