Wallace H. Hoy, 92, died on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, in Stillwater.. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Wallace was born in Covington on Oct. 26, 1920. He was the son of R.E. and Mary Hoy.
After graduating from Covington High School, he joined the Army as a 1st lieutenant and flew as a pilot in the European front. After returning from the war, he attended and graduated from OSU with a degree in engineering. He married Nina Stout on April 24, 1948. Wallace worked as a civil engineer with the Bureau of Indian Affairs until he retired.
He is preceded in death by his parents, R.E. and Mary Hoy; two brothers, Fred Hoy, and wife, MeRita, and John Hoy, and wife, Martha Jane; two sisters, Elva Hunter, and husband, Don, and Emma Swaim, and husband, Gene; and many beloved friends and relatives.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Hoy, of Stillwater; son, Bill Hoy, and wife, Claudia, of Denver, Colo.; son, Jim Hoy, and wife, Sharrie, of Carson City, Nevada; daughter, Sandie Edwards, and husband, Todd Whipple, of Stillwater; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Etta Mae Aullick, of Springfield, Mo. He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.
