Elbert Ivan Boyle

Elbert Ivan Boyle, 90, went to meet the lord on Dec. 29, 2012 in Cushing, Oklahoma. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater.  Interment will follow at Carney Cemetery.   Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on April 10, 1922 to Floyd Boyle and Emma McKnight on a farm east of Stillwater, Okla.  He graduated from Ripley High School in 1940. He served in the Army and after getting out of the service he made a home with the love of his life Reta June Reeves. He married Reta on Sept. 22, 1943 in Stillwater, Okla.

Elbert was a fun and loving man.  He loved training mules and enjoyed working with Tom Berry in training mules and being in the parades using his homemade wagons.  Elbert was a dairyman for many years and when he sold his dairy he went to work for the Stillwater School system as a maintenance supervisor.

He was a very crafty person.  If you live in or around Stillwater we are sure you would have noticed the Pistol Pete mailbox and the air mail box on top of the pole in his front yard.  He had lots of antiques welded in amongst the rails and made lots of gagets to have fun with when anyone would come to visit.

Elbert was a dedicated church goer.  He loved the lord above all things.  If the church door was open Elbert was there.  He has served as a deacon and many other aspects of church body.  Elbert was a good and righteous man and loved his lord.  So now he has gone on to be with his master.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Sylvester and one sister Lorane Yaunt.

He is survived by his wife Reta, two sons, Ray Boyle and wife Alice of Agra, Okla.; Don Boyle and wife Betty of Stillwater, Okla.; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth, and Marvin Boyle; One sister, Norma Lee Allen.
