Thomas Aaron Casey, 87, died on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, in Stillwater. Family will greet friends at Strode Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Strode Funeral Home chapel in Stillwater with Ken Piney and Owen Heisler officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Thomas was born July 16, 1925, to John Thomas Casey and Maggie Luvina (Sumner) Casey in Stillwater. He entered the United States Army in 1953 and was discharged in 1955 as a private, first class (T). In 1957, he married Peggy Poorboy and they remained together until her death in 2009. Thomas was a lifelong farmer and worked at the Student Union Building from 1959 to 1990.
Thomas is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; parents, John and Maggie; and sisters, Catherine and Flossie Casey.
He is survived by son, David Casey of Stillwater; daughter, Nancy Lyles, and husband, Bobby, of Stillwater; daughter, Margaret Casey, and husband, J.B. Ramsey, of Glencoe; son, Richard Casey, and wife, Charlotte, of Perry; grandchildren: Mary Gardner, Thomas Gardner, Rebekah Easton, Rachel Zaring, Anna Casey, Amanda Casey, Andrew Casey and Irene Lyles; and five great-grandchildren: Jaxon Stolte, Alexzander Zaring, Dylan Easton, Tyelor Easton, Jamie Gardner. Surviving sisters include Luvina Casey, Dollie Keith, Ruth Casey, Maryanna Thompson, and one brother, John Casey, and sister-in-law, Donna; one brother-in-law, Olis Thompson; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Keith, Wayne Keith, Dan Keith, Pete de Boer, Fred Beckman, Matthew Keith, Joseph Keith and Aaron Keith.
