Bessie Kathryn Bostian Everett

Bessie Kathryn Bostian Everett, 95, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.   Services will be held 2 p.m.  Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Perkins.  Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Perkins.Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bessie was born on Sept. 17, 1917, the first of seven children, to Roy and Ida Bostian. She was born at home on a farm southwest of Stillwater.  Preceding her death were her husband, Orville Everett, one infant sister, and three brothers, Lavern Bostian, Roy Bostian Jr., and Wyman Bostian.  Surviving siblings are Danah Cundiff and Pete Bostian.  Also surviving are two children, Janice Fly and Wendell Everett; and six grandchildren, Denise, Michael, Jason, Gary, Troy and Keri. There are 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren with a third due any day.

Bessie married Orville Everett in 1939. They were married nearly 59 years.Before retirement, they lived in Tulsa where Bessie was cafeteria manager at Madison Junior High School. They returned to Stillwater to retire and build their dream home. They enjoyed many years on their farm which was located 4 miles north of where Bessie was raised. For the past two years, Bessie has lived a very happy life at Golden Oaks in Stillwater. She made many dear friends in her time there.

Bessie was known as “Mammaw” to all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and so many countless others she adopted along the way.  She was deeply loved and appreciated by all who knew her.

Memorial contributions can be made to The Elm Grove Cemetery Association at 1012 East 92nd St. Perkins, OK 74059 or to Gideons International at 324 S Hoppy Road, Stillwater, OK 74075 in her honor.
