Jeanne Hesser, 80, loving wife, mother and Mimi went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, in Stillwater

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church with brother Tim Carr officiating. A private burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jeanne was born on June 8, 1932, in Hagerman, N.M., to Clyde and Alice May Newsom, and was raised in Tulia, Texas. She married Dewey Hesser on April 27, 1952, in Wellington, Texas. Jeanne was a breast cancer survivor, and was an active member of the Payne County unit of the American Cancer Society where she served as crusade chairman in the 1990’s. She helped raise thousands of dollars in donations, and in 1991, Jeanne’s efforts were recognized and she was featured as a leader for the American Cancer Society fundraisers.  She was also a member of the Phi Mu Sorority, Stillwater Country Club and Chapter U of PEO.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dewey Hesser; son, Robert Hesser; daughter, Holly Creech, and husband, Robert; granddaughters, Railee and Ashlee Creech; sisters, Mary Lacewell and Loveta Love; and sisters-in-law, Fern Hesser and Mona Brand and her husband, Jim.  

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Westhaven and to Dr. Todd Green for all their assistance and support.

Memorials may be given in her name on behalf of Railee Creech to the Oklahoma Family Network at P.O. Box 21072, Oklahoma City, OK 73156.
