Gayle is survived by her son, William C. “Bill” Bennett, and his wife, Marilyn, of Placitas, N.M.; daughter, Glenna Hughes, and her husband, Bob, of Stillwater; six grandchildren: Bobby Hughes, Kathi Tatum and husband Alex, Tonya Hughes, Tawni Bennett, Jodi Needum and husband Brian, and Kristi Bennett; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Billie Patton, of Tulsa; and sister, Geraldine Lane, of Claremore.

Granddaughter, Jodi, said it best:

“This morning my family lost our 95-year-old grandma. She was the smartest, most beautiful person, inside and out. She lived in her own house and was still driving. She kept up with stocks, oil and did crossword puzzles every day. She kept her mind going and that kept her going. She even went to singles groups! You had to drag her out of the casino! We had to keep up with her!! I feel blessed to have had her as a role model for me and my girls. She was very proud that she never had to depend on anyone to take care of her. I’m glad God took her the way she wanted to go — independent! We love you Gayle Fisher, and we already miss you terribly!”

Memorial contributions may be made in Gayle’s name to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation at 825 N.E. 13th St., Oklahoma City, OK, 73104.
