Margaret Beatrice Cundiff Graves

Margaret Cundiff Graves, 100, died in Perkins, on Saturday, June 14. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Friends Chapel Church with Rev. Merl Kinser officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret was born in Payne County, on Feb. 17, 1914. She attended Pleasant Valley Elementary School and Coyle High School. She then completed a two-year business program at Byrne Commercial College before completing a four-year degree in accounting at Oklahoma State University (then Oklahoma A&M). She was the third woman to graduate in accounting from OSU.

Margaret married Leo Clark Graves on Sept. 17, 1938. They were lifelong residents of Payne County. Margaret and Leo had four children: James Leo Graves, William Duane Graves, Walter Edward Graves and Mary Margaret Graves. Margaret was an active member of Friends Chapel Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Maggie Cundiff; her husband, Leo Graves; her brother and sister, Ed Cundiff and Hortense Erwin; and her son, Walter E. Graves.

Margaret is survived by two sons, James L. Graves and his wife Pamela C. Graves of Perkins, and William D. Graves of Perkins; and one daughter, Mary M. (Midge) Graves and her husband Charles B. (Bud) Hammons of Coyle.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Robert J. Graves and his wife Lynn of Del City, Starlyn Sue (Susie) Anderson and her husband Rodger of Stillwater, William D. Graves and his wife Martha of Glencoe, Slade D. Graves and his wife Donna of Orlando, Angel Rogers and her husband Joe of Stillwater, Walter C. Pfeffer of San Francisco Calif., and Lora M. Pfeffer of Frisco, Texas.

Margaret also has numerous great-grandchildren: Carrie Warner and her husband Daniel as well as their two daughters Anna and Emily of Yukon, Steve Smith and his wife Tiffany as well as their daughter McKenzie of Moore, Ty Graves and his wife Karah of Orlando; Britni Graves and her fiance Brad Nealis of Sand Springs, Jennifer Graves and her fiance Mike Berry of Perry, Ian Graves of Glencoe, Sophia Rogers of Stillwater; Landon Rogers of Stillwater, Laura Graves of Mulhall, Dale and Lori Anderson and their son Jarad of Cleveland; and Matt and Jennifer Anderson and their son Colby and daughter Caitlynn of Glencoe.

Pallbearers are Slade Graves, Walt Pfeffer, Ty Graves, Rod Anderson, Daniel Warner and Joe Rogers.

Bob Graves is honorary pall bearer, and Terry Jarvis is alternate pall bearer.
