Norma Rae Hallman, 82, died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Stillwater, Okla. Interment will follow at Lawson Cemetery in Yale, Okla. The Reverend Bobby Roe will officiate the service. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Norma was born on May 29, 1930 in Quay, Okla., to Charles Raymond and Gene (Allen) Troxel. She married Daryl Hallman on Sept. 26, 1959 in Newkirk, Okla. She graduated from Central State College in Edmond with a B.S. in Education, and earned her Master’s Degree as a certified reading specialist from Oklahoma State University. Norma taught at Perkins Elementary for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and part of the Cimarron Valley Home Demonstration.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Daryl Hallman, of Stillwater, Okla.; son, Norman Daryl Hallman, and wife, Elizabeth, of Laredo, Texas; grandchildren, Eric and Carly Hallman, of Laredo, Texas; brother, Larry G. Troxel, Sr., and his wife, Dolores, of Charleston, SC; and sister, Janet Davis, and husband, Milo, of Owasso, Okla.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Mercy Hospice 4401 W. Memorial Rd., Ste 143, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
