Betty Bauman Brewer

Betty Bauman Brewer went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 in Stillwater, Okla.  A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at 2:00pm at Highland Park United Methodist Church.  Pastor Derrek Belase will preside with Strode Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Betty (Elizabeth Ann) was born June 11, 1927 in Anadarko, Okla., to George Clark and Lottie Marjorie (Thompson) Bauman.  She graduated high school in Anadarko, Okla., in 1945 and went on to Oklahoma A&M College that Fall.  While in college, she met the love of her life Calvin Riley Brewer, and they married Aug. 31, 1947.  Betty then graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics.  To this union two sons were born, Ralph Clark and James Robert.

Betty was a charter member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church and spent much of her time devoted to being active in the church.  She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Church Women United, and Stephen’s Ministry.

Betty loved her family and spent much of her adult life taking care of them throughout the years.  She always thought of others before herself and worked tirelessly to make sure everyone was taken care of.  She continued to worry more about others even while facing her own illnesses.  Many of her happiest moments were when she spent time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Lottie; husband, Calvin; and two brothers, Robert and James.

She is survived by one brother, Don Bauman; two sons, Ralph, and his wife, Karen, and James, and his wife, Judy; seven grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, Jamie, Michael, Joshua, Colin and Whitney; and eight great grandchildren, Kaylee, Allison, Dillon, Presley, Paige, Riley, Cole and Owen.
