— Sue Walters  List, 72, wife of Larry List, a resident of Bartlesville from 1971-1992, and currently residing in Dallas, died on June 15, 2013, in her home surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was born Aug. 1, 1940, in Newton, Kan.  She was the daughter of Wayne and Roberta (LeFever) Walters.  The family moved to Stillwater in 1945, and she received her early education there.  She attended Oklahoma State University and The University of Alabama, where she received her bachelor’s of education degree in 1964. She resided in Alabama, Washington D.C. and New York City before moving to Bartlesville in 1971.  Upon her husband’s retirement, they spent several years traveling before settling in Phoenix, Ariz., then moving to Dallas in 2001.

She was an active member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Service League of Bartlesville, Chi Omega Alumnae Association, PEO, and numerous other civic organizations.  She was fortunate to have MCrowd not only as her employer but also as an extended family.  Most recently the” Sue List Servant-Leadership Award” was named in her honor as a lasting testament to her strength and her character.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roberta Walters, 2003, and Wayne Walters, 1997, and one brother Richard Wayne Walters, 1968.  Survivors include Larry List, Catherine Whitworth Jordan,  Elizabeth Whitworth Margiotta, Suzanne Whitworth Holland, Lori List Jackson, Steven List, Dustin List, and 14 grandchildren. She is survived by one brother, Max E. Walters, and his children, Terri Sue Walters Wensinger and Brad Walters.

Memorial services will be at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas, 2 p.m. June 28.  A memorial has been established in her name with Faith Presbyterian Hospice, Dallas, Texas.
