Marie Manning

Marie Manning, 93, died Friday, March 25, 2011, in Stillwater, Okla. Her Services will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at 10 a.m. with Dr. B. Gordon Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marie Manning was born on Sept. 2, 1917, to James K. Walker and Okie M. (Fesmire) Walker in Hammond, Okla. She moved to Stillwater, Okla. in 1935, and married William Criss Manning on Sept. 2, 1940, in Clinton, Okla. She worked as a Telephone Operator for SBC for 30 years, and she enjoyed quilting and embroidering. She was a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneer Club, the Circle One, the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary and the First Presbyterian Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; two brothers, Roy and James; two sisters, Ara and Bessie; and son-in-law, Charles Anaya.

She is survived by daughter, Sharon Boyer, and husband, Leon, of Stillwater, Okla.; daughter, Donna Lowry, and husband, Todd, of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Shelly Anaya, of Stillwater, Okla.; granddaughter, Lisa Baldwin, and husband, David, of Stillwater, Okla.; grandson, Greg Boyer, and wife, Lori, of Stillwater, Okla.; granddaughter, Lana Williams, and husband Jeff, of Tulsa, Okla.; grandson, Alex Anaya; granddaughter, Libby Anaya; grandson, Brady Lowry, and wife Michelle, of Allen, Texas; great-granddaughter, Jordan Baldwin, and fiancé, Dennis Anderson; great –grandson, Austin Boyer, of Stillwater, Okla.; step great-granddaughter, Caitlin Cundiff, of Stillwater, Okla.; great-grandsons, Grayson and Charlie Lowry, of Allen, Texas; sister, Harlene Bickford, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sister-in-law, Betty Jardot, of Pond Creek, Okla.; sister-in-law, Josie Walker, of Cushing, Okla.; and  brother-in-law, Walter Rossander, of Stillwater, Okla.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 524 S. Duncan St., Stillwater, OK 74074 or the Charles Anaya Memorial Children of Stillwater Firefighter Fund at Spirit Bank, 417 S. Perkins Rd., Stillwater, OK 74075.
