Heather McNutt Corbett

Heather McNutt Corbett, 41, went to be with her Lord and Savior Dec.  23, 2012, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater with Jonathan Dorst and Mike Dodson presiding. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Heather was born on Aug. 6, 1971, in Ponca City, to her proud parents W. Malcolm and Sharon Neal McNutt. She attended Ponca City schools, graduating in 1989. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in May 2000 with a degree in education and began her teaching career in August 2000 at Skyline Elementary School. One of her greatest joys was teaching and developing her relationships with her students.

She married Tracy Corbett on Feb. 19th, 2005, in Ponca City.

She is survived by her husband, Tracy Corbett, daughter, Carson Johndrow, and sons, Carl and Calvin of Stillwater; mother, Sharon McNutt of Ponca City; sister, Michele McNutt of Ponca City; in-laws, Gary and Garalyn Corwin; sister-in-law and husband, Megan and Greg Stolhand of Ponca City; uncle and aunt, Roy and Janet Neal of Bartlesville;  cousins, Robert, Lauren, and Lillian Neal of Bartlesville.

She was preceded in death by her father, W. Malcolm McNutt in February 1998.

With her many years of teaching and her community work through her church, Grace Church Stillwater, Heather truly blessed many people. Her sense of humor, listening ear, and compassion for others will truly be missed.
