Eula Bell Brown, 86, of Stillwater, went home to be with her Savior on Jan. 24, 2013, with her family at her side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel at 5106 N. Eula Bell Hux was born on Feb. 7, 1926, in Como, Texas to Oddly C. Hux and Allie Mae (Burns) Hux.  She grew up and attended schools in the Como, Texas area.  In 1943, Eula was united in marriage to James “Jack” Brown in Pickton, Texas. This marriage would remain strong for 63 years, until Jack's passing in 2006.  In 1948, the family relocated to Stillwater, where Eula went to work for the Payne County Creamery, which later became known as the Gold Spot Creamery. After working nearly 20 years in the lab at the creamery, she left to join the staff at Stillwater Medical Center. Eula was employed as a housekeeper for SMC for more than 20 years before retiring in the late 1980’s.

Eula was proud of her membership with The Order of the Eastern Star and has been a longtime and faithful member of the Southside Baptist Church in Stillwater. She enjoyed attending Oklahoma State athletic events with Jack, fishing, canning, spending time in her garden and she was blessed to share many meals with the other patrons of Project HEART. Strengthening her walk with the Lord and spending quality time with her family was certainly Eula's passion. Her pastor cannot recall a conversation that didn’t somehow end up with Eula bragging about her amazing and beloved grandchildren.  Eula was a dedicated Christian, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a generous friend who impacted many lives in her remarkable 86 years of life.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband and best friend: James “Jack” Brown.

She is survived by her children, Vickie Brake and husband Charles, of Stillwater. and Brenda Sanders and husband Wayne, of Stillwater; a brother,  Joe Hux of East Hartford, Conn.;  a sister, Melba Battles of Stillwater; five grandchildren, Jason Brake, Brian Sanders and wife Jodi, Justin Sanders, Travis Brake and Amanda Sanders-Vann and husband Kevin. Eula is also survived by her five greatgrandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eula's honor to the Southside Baptist Church  or Project HEART of Stillwater in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, OK 74075

Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guest book at http://www.pmcfh.com/
