Ray Gerald Focht died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the age of 82 at his home in Perkins. He was surrounded by family. A visitation will be held at Strode Funeral Home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater.

Ray was born June 25, 1930, in Glencoe to Marion Ray Focht and Freda (Rein) Focht. He was born the second of five children. He grew up farming with his family. On Oct. 7, 1950, he married Flossie McKaughan in Stillwater. Ray and Flossie always lived in Payne County. They were blessed with eight children from 1951 to 1962. Ray worked for 28 years for the city of Cushing. He also drilled water wells, baled hay and farmed.  Ray and Flossie lived in Stillwater, Cushing, Ripley, and then Perkins.

In his spare time, Ray liked fishing, fixing lawnmowers and tractors and gardening. He will always be remembered by his work ethic and caring attitude.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Ray and Freda (Rein) Focht; his sister, Eva Geraldine Cox; and one grandson, Justin Focht.

Ray is survived by his wife, Flossie Focht, of 62 years; his son, Larry Focht, and wife, Charlene; son, Billy Focht, and wife, Paula; daughter, Linda Farrall, and husband, Michael; daughter, Nancy Johnson and Don Moore; son, Roy Focht, and wife, Lori; son, David Focht, and wife, Alma; daughter, Peggy Brady, and husband, Charles; and son, Adam Focht and wife, Kim. He is also survived by three siblings: sister, Shirley Francis McCubbin, and husband, Doyle “Cub,”; sister, Billie Kathryn Ham, and brother, Russell Tommy Focht. He is survived by 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be grandsons Jayson Focht, Ryvers Focht, David Focht, Joshua Farrall, Chris Focht, and Rayme Johnson. Larry Hines will be an honorary pallbearer.

We would like to thank Judith Karman Hospice for care they provided for Ray. Donations may be made in his name to Judith Karman Hospice at P.O. Box 818, Stillwater, OK 74076.
