Jane Evelyn Baker, 81, passed away Feb. 7, 2014, in Stillwater. Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel with Norman Richmond officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jane was born Oct. 20, 1932, to Orville Andrew (Whitie) McLaughlin and Ruby Betz in Ripley. She married Bobby Joe Baker on June 5, 1949.
She attended Ripley High School. She attended Highland Park Free Will Baptist Church. Jane played the piano for church and occasions for many years. She also played guitar and sang at the nursing homes, Ingalls and many other functions. After marrying Bobby Joe Baker, they farmed east of Stillwater where they lived for 45 years. She managed the Cotton Lab at the OSU Agriculture Research Center where she retired in 1994. She had many friends, enjoyed people and loved her family and the Lord Jesus very much.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Orville and Ruby McLaughlin. Her husband, Bobby Joe Baker; one sister, Lura Casey and one brother Orville McLaughlin.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Baker of Stillwater; Barry Baker and his wife Lynda of Stillwater; granddaughters, Amber Kaiser and husband Jerib of Tulsa; Krista Becker and husband Travis of Yankton, S.D.; grandson, Tim Baker of Yankton, S.D. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren; Ashli, Chloe, Tori and Zach Becker of Yankton, S.D.
