Kathy Ann (Lassley) Watkins

— Kathy Ann (Lassley) Watkins, 57, a longtime Yale resident, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Stillwater Medical Center.

A private family graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at Lawson Cemetery, Yale.  Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale.  

Kathy was born on Jan. 1, 1956, in Pawnee to Glen and Wanda (Niccum) Lassley.

She grew up in the Yale area, attending Quay Elementary and Yale High School, graduating from Yale High School in 1974.  After graduation, she started her L.P.N. training at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, then moved to Corpus Christi where she worked at the Corpus Christi hospital for three months then moved back to work at Hillcrest for the 12 years as a floor supervisor.   Kathy later worked at Cushing Regional Hospital for a year.  

She married Larry Cypert on June 13, 1996.  They enjoyed spending time with each other.  She liked to watch her soap operas in the afternoons.  Her pride and joy was her dog (Izzy).  Kathy loved taking care of others.  Her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews meant the world to her, just like having her own children.  

Kathy is survived by her husband Larry Cypert of the home; parents Glen and Wanda Lassley of Yale; brother, Greg Lassley and wife Debbie of Yale; sisters, Karen Armstrong of Yale, Cherie Bryan and husband Randy of Yale, and Glenda Smoot of Broken Arrow; nieces and nephews, Jesika Piearcy, Cortney Williams, William Lassley, Ryan Lassley, Erin Lassley, Jeremy Craig, Justin Craig, Kellie Bryan, Adam Bryan, Trey Phillips, Amanda Phillips, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and sister Cindy Craig.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
