— Nancy Marie Tucker, a Cushing resident, passed away early Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, in the Integris Baptist Hospital, Oklahoma City, at the age of 71 years.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10  a.m., Wednesday in the St.’s Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Cushing.  Burial will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery.

The daughter of the late Walter Neises and Martha (Landis) Neises, Nancy was born on Jan. 18, 1943, in Schulte, Kan.  She was reared and educated in the Schulte and Wichita areas.

Nancy was united in marriage to Ronald Tucker on Feb. 27, 1960, in Schulte, Kan., and to this union three daughters, Jacqueline, Julie and Lisa, were born. Nancy and Ron made their first home in Wichita but also lived in California, Sapulpa, Stillwater and Carney before moving to Cushing in 1997. While they lived in Stillwater Nancy and Ron owned and operated the Simple Simon’s Pizza for several years. After moving to Cushing, Nancy worked at as a waitress at the Homestead and worked in food management at the Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing before retiring in early 2013.

Nancy was a member of the St.’s Peter and Paul Catholic Church and in her spare time she enjoyed cross stitching, reading books and collecting Catholic statues and rosaries, but her greatest joys came when she was spending time with her family and making trips to the Wichita area to visit friends and family.

Survivors include Nancy’s husband of nearly 54 years, Ron, of the home; three daughters, Jacqueline Tucker of Cushing, Julie Latney and her husband Dwayne of Wichita; and Lisa Price and her husband Charles of Wichita; four brothers, David Neises and his wife Cindy of Independence, Kan.; Leroy Neises of Goddard, Kan.; Martin Neises and his wife LaJeana of Sapulpa; and Marvin Neises and his wife Kathy of Halstead, Kan.; three sisters, Wanda Seal and her husband Ted of Wichita; Eileen Weber and her husband John of Halstead, Kan.; and Mary Ann Neises of Wichita; seven grandchildren, Joshua Peaslee and his wife Laniesa; Jacob Peaslee, Adam Peaslee and his wife Megan; Kiara Latney, Shenqual Latney, Payton Latney, and Miyah Latney; and five great-grandchildren, Abby Allen, Willow Peaslee, Emily Peaslee, JaVon Latney, and Tristan Latney; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
