Robert M. (Bob) Davis, 61, son of Bill and Betty (Boyles) Davis, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, in Fayetteville, Ark. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bob was born on Aug. 7, 1951, in Stillwater, and graduated with the Class of ’69 at Sillwater High School. He received his bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma State University and master’s degree at the University of Houston, Clearlake, Texas. As a sophomore at OSU, Bob met and married the love of his life Judy. They went on to have two children, Megan and Jason.
Bob served 20 years as an Army engineer officer reaching the rank of lieutenant colonel by the time he retired. He served his country in Korea, Germany, Provide Comfort after Desert Storm and many U.S. assignments.
Following retirement from the Army, he spent the rest of his career as Director of Public Works of Pinal County, Ariz. Once fully retired, Bob and Judy enjoyed living on 55 acres in Valley Falls, Kan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. In the last four years, he was enjoying being a papa.
Bob is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Megan Luhrs and husband, Richard; son, Jason Davis and wife, Hilary; brother, Richard Davis and wife, Jan; granddaughters, Natalie, Madison, Lily and Jillian; grandson, Nick; nieces, Trisha and Kelly; nephew, Brad; aunts Peggy and Ruby; uncle Don; and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Betty Davis; and sister, Connie.
