Roy Willis Longan         Jan. 22, 1941 – July 2, 2012.

 Roy Longan, 71 passed away in Palmdale, Calif., July 2, 2012 after a long illness with cancer. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen, two daughters, Debbie Himes and husband Lynn, Sandy Quinnones and husband Esteban, and son, Steve Longan. Six grandchildren, Chris, Jessica, Stephanie, Jason Michael, and Riley. One brother, James Longan and wife Jeanne of Lincoln, Neb., and one sister, Alberta Ropers and husband, Eldon of Stillwater, Okla..

He is also survived by many brother and sister-in-laws, many nieces and nephews who live in Okla., and other parts of the country. Roy was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ray and Eunice Longan, and brothers, Kenneth, Jerry, Charles  (Chuck), and Walter (Fuz), all of Stillwater, Okla.

Roy was raised in Stillwater, Okla., and at 18 years old, he relocated in Southern Calif., where he married Carmen Romero, raised a family, and for 45 years resided in Granada Hills, Calif. He attended college of the Canyons, dedicating his life as a police officer and sergeant for the Los Angeles Police Department for 20 years. He also worked for many years as a policeman with the movie industry. His later years were spent  traveling and golfing, as he and Carmen were avid golfers. He loved football and traveled seasonally to Okla., to watch the OSU Cowboys football games. Many motor home trips were spent in N.M., and Okla., visiting family or seeing the sites.

A private celebration of his life will be held at his son, Steve Longan's home on Saturday, July 14th.
