Bernice Wolnick

Bernice Wolnick, 92, of Stillwater, passed from this life on April 19, 2013. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Bernice was born on Jan. 19, 1921, in Milwaukee, Wisc., to Henry and Josephine (Kaczmarek) Miller.  She grew up and attended schools in Milwaukee.  Following her schooling, she married Raymond Wolnick. Bernice and Raymond had three children:  Carol, Kenn and an infant son, David, who passed away just four days after his birth. They raised their children in the Milwaukee area where Bernice remained until Raymond’s death in 1996. Following his passing, Bernice relocated to Stillwater.

Bernice attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking and shopping.  She was a reserved woman who possessed a quite strength. She was as independent and stubborn as she was generous. She was the happiest when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren, rarely missing an opportunity to support them in their sports and hobbies. Bernice Wolnick lived a remarkable 91-year life and she will undoubtedly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Raymond Wolnick,  a son,  David Wolnick,  parents Henry and Josephine Miller, two grandsons,  David and Kerry, and one sister, Ruth Sidney.

She is survived by her children, Carol Timm and husband Robert, and Kenn Wolnick and wife Chrys, three grandchildren, Mary Jo Davis and husband Roger, Kathy Voit and Rigg Hipps, and Brian Wolnick and his wife Cheryl, five great grandchildren, Ryan Voit, Alex Voit, Daniel Thaves, Cindy Davis and Roger Davis.

Condolences can be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.pmcfh.com or Facebook at www.facebook.com/pmcfh.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Bernice’s name to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
