Janet Remy Griffith

Janet Remy Griffith, 76, died on Oct. 1, 2013, in Stillwater. There will be a visitation from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Strode Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater with  the Rev. Michael Chaffin officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on March 2, 1937, to Ralph W. and Ethel (Fulton) Remy in Newkirk. Janet married David Lachelt in 1961, but he passed away in May 1963. She attended OSU where she received her teaching degree. She married Jack Art Griffith on Aug. 15, 1970, in Stillwater. Janet was a teacher, a member of the First United Methodist Church and belonged to the PEO.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husbands, David Lachelt and Jack Art Griffith.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Griffith (Susan), Stillwater, and Jon Lachelt (Karen), Fort Collins, Colo.; two daughters, Gina Griffith, Stillwater, and Nancy Kramer (Alan), Stillwater; six grandchildren, Nick Dvorak, Stillwater, Laura Aufleger, Stillwater, Allie Griffith, Stillwater, Nelson Dvorak, Stillwater, Elisabeth, Rachel, Sarah, Anna Lachelt, Fort Collins, Colo.; great-grandson, Griff Aufleger; and one brother, Jim Remy, Amarillo, Texas.

Honorary pallbearers are Suzanne Carpenter, Dr. Robert Phillips, Bill Thompson, Nancy Patton, Betty Townsend, Jan Hargrove, Jim Gragg and Elaine Gragg.
