Roger Dewayne Fitzgerald, 53, died on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, in Stillwater. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at Strode Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater with Mike Hayes and Buddy Flowers officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sapulpa. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Roger was born to Clifford and Juanita (Thompson) Fitzgerald on Aug. 4, 1960 in Cherokee. He married Fran Nixon in 1982 in Lufkin, Texas. They had two children, Rachel and Alexander. He attended the University of Dallas where he graduated with his bachelor’s of science degree. Roger went on to become the vice president of sales for Drumright Pump.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Claude and Sarah Thompson; and fraternal grandparents, Billie and Jewel Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his parents, Clifford and Juanita Fitzgerald; two children, Alexander and Rachel Fitzgerald; brother, Edward Fitzgerald; and sister, Teresa Pope.
Pallbearers will include Cody Fitzgerald, Brooks Perrine, Chris Powers, Tommy Hayes, Joey Bastion and Garfield Griswald.
Memorial contributions may be made in Roger’s name to the American Diabetes Association at 3000 United Founders Boulevard #108, Oklahoma City, OK, 73112.
