Louis Wayne Scott, age 57, passed away on Oct. 16, 2013, from carcinoid cancer. He was born in Stillwater on July 30, 1956, to parents Louis Richard and Joy Mae Scott. He was partnered to David Cantu on June 15, 1996, and they lived in Yukon.
His dedication to the OKC zoo and his love for plants shines in all he did from his rock work to his many plant collection designs and educational classes. Without his brilliant knowledge, the zoo’s botanical garden accreditation would not have happened. The improvements, especially with the walking paths, designs, identification of the historical elements, plantings and endless educational programs at Will Rogers Gardens are all because of Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Louis is survived by his partner/soul mate, David Cantu, brother Mark Scott and wife, Dena, sister Denise Bertholf, favorite aunt Lila and uncle Bob Tillman, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Noemi and Rey Balli, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Beverly and Monico Quintanilla, and nephews Jacob, Dillon and niece Dailey.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Oct. 26, 2013, at Epworth United Methodist, 1901 N. Douglas Ave., OKC, OK, 73106.
