Valley (Mae) Sherman, 93, died on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 in Stillwater, Okla. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Okla., with Reverend Jeff Kuehn officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mae was born on January 11, 1919 in Perkins, Okla., to John G. and Alice T. (Gregg) Cook. She graduated from Coyle High School, and she married Alvin Floyd Sherman on Nov. 4, 1939 in Coyle, Okla. They lovingly raised five children, and enjoyed 59 years of marriage until his death in 1998. She was a member of the Diamond Valley Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by three sons, Ron, Donnie, and Johnny Sherman; two daughters, Marilyn Tovar and Carolyn Scott; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
