Robert Dean (Bob) Bivins

— Robert Dean (Bob) Bivins, 74, died on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at his home in Oxnard, Calif. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Okla.  The Reverend John Bugg, Pastor, University Heights Baptist Church will be officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.

Bob was born on March 16, 1938 in Okmulgee, Okla. to Harry and Goldie Pearl (Walter) Bivins. Bob grew up in Beggs, Okla. where he graduated from high school prior to attending Oklahoma State University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.  He married Wanda Low in Tulsa, Okla. in 1957 and together they lovingly raised one son, Bret Allen Bivins, and enjoyed almost 40 years of marriage together before her death in 1998.

He became vice president of both Larwin Group Inc. and Wells Fargo Banks before becoming vice president of Pacific Lighting Corporation of southern California in 1975. Eventually, he became a successful self-employed real estate investor, retiring in 1997. Bob was an avid fisherman, golfer and all around sports enthusiast who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and a true believer in the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his son, Bret Allen Bivins; fiancée and life partner, Cheryl Todd; grandchildren, Ava Luisa Bivins and Ella Megan Maynard; and sister, Peggy Joyce Smith.

Pallbearers will include Bret A. Bivins, John Reardon, Gordon Greer, John Mayes, and Phil Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Livingston Memorial Hospice at 1996 Eastman Ave, Ventura, CA 93003.
