— Patsy Ann Sloan, 80, passed away on Jan. 28 in Cushing. A visitation will be held at Strode Funeral Home from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Mr. Paul Anderson will officiate.

 Patsy was born on May 4, 1933, in Blair to Fred and Lila McCombs. She grew up in Jackson County as the daughter of a wheat and cotton farmer. As a child, her closest friends were her cousins who remained dear friends through her life. She graduated from Warren High School in 1952. She was active in 4-H and basketball. In 1953, she married Jim Netherton. They divorced in 1991.

After living in Little Rock, Ark., Raleigh, N.C., Chicago, Ill., and Fayetteville, Ark., Patsy returned to Stillwater in January 1970. She worked in engineering and technology Extension at Oklahoma State University for more than 25 years. She had a heart for college students and enjoyed having students over for Sunday dinner after church. In her free time she enjoyed decorating and cooking.  She had green thumb and adored her pets. In December 1994, she married Jim Sloan of Stillwater.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Sloan; her parents; and older brother, Delmar McCombs.

She is survived by her children, Susan Parker (husband, Frank) of Virginia and Paul Netherton of California; two grandchildren (Madeline and Ethan); and one brother, Max McCombs of Washington state.
