Lyle Harrison Winterhalter

Lyle Harrison Winterhalter, 76, died on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in Stillwater, Okla. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Southside Baptist Church with Brother Joe Day officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lyle was born on March 31, 1936 in Oxford, Kan., to Omer Harrison and Hazel Marie (Going) Winterhalter. He attended school at Oak Grove and Ripley, Okla., and later married Velma Jean Vogt on June 18, 1955 at the Diamond Valley Church in Stillwater. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Ponca City, Okla.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Hazel Winterhalter; and four brothers, Dwight, Clarance, Virgil, and Jerry Winterhalter.

He is survived by his wife, Velma Jean (Vogt) Winterhalter; daughter, Debra Lyn (Winterhalter) Lane, and husband, Ken; son, Sergeant First Class Larry Dean Winterhalter, and his wife, Marsha; four grandchildren, Ashlea D. (Lane) Ledbetter, and her husband, Brandon, Joshua Ryan Winterhalter, Birch Dean Lane, and his wife, Valerie, and Nikki Lynn (Winterhalter) Vance, and her husband, Joshua; five great-grandchildren, Conner Winterhalter, Elliot Anavay Ledbetter, Adelaide Rose Ledbetter, Cameron Vance, and Cohen Ledbetter, with a sixth great-grandchild on the way; and brother, Wilbur Winterhalter.  He is also survived by many close relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will include Joshua Winterhalter, Birch Lane, Brandon Ledbetter, Joshua Vance, J.D. Winterhalter, and Clayton Freeman.
