Mary Lou (Quick) Phillips

Mary Lou was born to William (Bill) Frederick Quick and Ivah Virginia Mitchell June 1933 at home in Cushing Okla. She went to the Cushing Schools.  In high school she was a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, she received a “Good Citizenship Award” and was Vice-President of her senior class of 1951.  After high school she went to the then Oklahoma A &M College School of Intensive Business.  She graduated in Aug. of 1953. In Oct. 1953 she started working in the office of Midland Cooperatives, Inc.  She married Loyal W. Phillips April, 1956, at the First Methodist Church in Cushing, Okla., where they lived until her husband was transferred by Halliburton to Montana.  Mary Lou and the growing family would live a short time in Mont. then 13 1/2 years in Kimball, Neb. and 13 1/2 years in Sterling, Colo.  The family moved to Stillwater, Okla. when husband Loyal retired from Halliburton in 1986.

Mary Lou enjoyed the Payne County Quilting Guild and working on family genealogy.  Everywhere she lived while taking care of her family, she was very active in the United Methodist Women (UMW).  The activities with the UMW are too numerous to mention and were always a labor of love in her life.

 She is survived by her husband Loyal, son Terry and daughter-in-law Amy, son Donald, daughter Alicia, son-in-law Andy and granddaughter Maya.  The family would like to give special thanks the Doctors and Cancer Center Nurses and especially to the United Methodist Church Charitus class for their care and caring acts.
