Zella Jane (Flora) Simpson

Zella Jane (Flora) Simpson, 77, of Stillwater, passed on July 23, 2012.  Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.

Zella was born on Jan. 5, 1935 to Melvin and Clara Flora in Stillwater, Okla.  She grew up and was educated in the Stillwater-Pawnee-Maramec  area.  In 1953 she married the love of her life Lee Roy Simpson in Pawnee.  Zella worked as a cook in the education system.  She also loved cooking for her own family and was very well known for her cheesecake.  She also enjoyed singing along with country songs.  Zella loved holidays and made sure to go out of her way to make them the best possible with cookies and homemade bread.  She was a very giving person, especially with her family, and always enjoyed spending time with her family.  

Zella is survived by her children, Randy Simpson, Robert “Bob” Simpson, Richard Simpson, Margie Robinson, Mary Jane Simpson, and Linda McCloskey Long; twelve grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee Roy, two brothers, Harold and Leonard, sister Hazel, daughters Betty Jo Simpson and Debbie Slavens, and son Ronnie Simpson.
