Mary Ellen Martin, resident at the Renaissance of Stillwater and former resident of Cushing, passed away on Dec. 17, 2013, in Stillwater at the age of 83.
The daughter of the late Lou Cross and Susie Fronkier Cross, Mary was born on April 4, 1930, in Wichita, Kan., and was reared and educated in Tulsa.
Mary was united in marriage to James Martin on April 2, 1955.
To this union three children, John, Susann and Patricia, were born. James preceded her in death on March 28, 1999.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed her Sunday school class, substitute teaching, playing golf and tennis. Mary was also a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.
Survivors include son, John Martin and his wife, Gay, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Susann Box and her husband, Scott, of Cushing; son-in-law, Kevin Morrison and his wife, Katrina, of Collinsville; five grandchildren, Tanner Martin, Ciara Martin, James Box, Allison Box and Ilya Morrison; sister-in-law, Dorothy Cross of Allen, Texas; brother-in-law, Dr. Charles Martin and wife, Marge, of Perry and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by daughter, Patricia Morrison; brother, Jack Cross; sister, Joan Cross; sister-in-law, Mary Arceneaux and brother-in-law Judge George Arceneaux .
Funeral services will be Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Davis Memorial Chapel with Ralph Hickman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
