Richard Albert Anderson

Richard Albert Anderson, 85, passed from this life on Dec. 30, 2012, in Perkins.  Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held 11a.m. Saturday at the Perkins funeral home chapel (304 N. Main) with Pastor Leroy Hawkins presiding.  

Richard was born on March 28, 1927, to Carl and Jessie Anderson in Fairbanks, Alaska.  He grew up in the Fairbanks area and graduated in 1945. After school, Richard enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during the start of the Korean War. He later married the love of his life Mary Ruth Anderson, a marriage that would last 54 years until her passing in 2007.  Richard was known as a hardworking man and drove trucks for nearly his entire life.

Richard is survived by two sons, Richard A. “Rick” Anderson and wife Sherri of Tulsa, and Ronald A. “Ron” Anderson of Fitzhugh; four grandchildren Jennifer, Kristen, Hunter, and J.J.; three great grandchildren, Laynee, Andi, Trace, Owen, Jaxon, and Kaia; as well as many friends and neighbors he had acquired in his travels.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Anderson; son, Randall A. Anderson, and sister, Bernice Desmond.
