Shirley Jean (Frazier) Hedger, age 77 passed away on Feb. 10, 2013, in Edmond.  Shirley was born in Drumright. on July 21, 1935, to Harry and Mary Frazier.  She married George Hedger in 1958 and they had three children.

Shirley was known for her open door hospitality, always welcoming anyone into her home.  Famous for her homemade pies, she always had a delicious treat waiting. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Edmond.  While a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ardmore, she was a member of the Chancel Choir, United Methodist Women and the Epworth Class.  She enjoyed being a part of several bridge groups, was an active volunteer in Ardmore City Schools, and a member of AAUW.  She graduated from Stillwater High School and Oklahoma State University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.

Shirley is survived by her husband George of Edmond, daughter Tammy Padgett and husband Rick of Edmond, son Matt Hedger and wife Carrie of Ardmore and son Zane Hedger and wife Leah of Edmond. She is also survived by her brother Bruce and Mary Lou Frazier of Amarillo, Texas, and five grandchildren, Zack and Clay Padgett, Jackson and Emilee Hedger, Sam Hedger, and soon to arrive Ryan Hedger. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Mary Frazier, Brother John Frazier and wife Bonnie and grandson Jacob Ryan Hedger.

A memorial service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Edmond. Memorial contributions to be made to:  Oklahoma and Arkansas Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association.

Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond.
