Ricky Lee Bentley

Ricky Lee Bentley, 59, of Coyle, Okla., passed from this life on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  His services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater, and will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, Aug. 24, at River of Life Pentecostal Church of God, Stillwater.  

Rick was born on June 8, 1953 in Coyle, Okla. to C A and Ova Lee Bentley.  He was raised in Coyle, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Debra K. Phillips on June 9, 1972.  Rick, an avid music lover, enjoyed his youthful years as a musician and singer of a local favorite band, Ricky and the Raiders.  With the birth of their first daughter, Jodi Danielle Bentley, followed by son, Michael Lee Bentley, and youngest daughter, Amy Beth Bentley, Rick and Debbie settled and remained in the Coyle community, working at the family owned business, Bentley & Son Tank Trucks.  Rick lived a life devoted to his family and community.  He served in the Coyle Volunteer Fire Department for 28 years, serving as Fire Chief 25 of those years.  Rick was also President of the Logan County Fire Chiefs Association from 1994 to 2002.  He was a member of the Board of Education for the Coyle Public School System from 1992 to 1997.  Rick was also a member of the board at Coyle Assembly of God where he continued with his gifting and love for music through praise and worship.  Rick has left his legacy of serving God, serving family, and serving others to his children and grandchildren.

In addition to being survived by his father, Carl Bentley, Rick is survived by his wife, Debbie, daughter Jodi Pinto and her husband Fernando, of Colorado Springs, Colo., son Mike Bentley and his wife, Rebecca, of Tucson, Ariz., daughter Amy Davenport, of Jenks, Okla.; grandchildren Joshua and Caleb Pinto, Destin and Chenoa Bentley, Levi Davenport, and a sister Carla Rhamy and her husband Marty, of Coyle, Okla.  Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Ova Lee Bentley.

The family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to Judith Karman Hospice, c/o Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N Washington, Stillwater, OK  74075.  Condolences may be left for the family via an online guestbook at pmcfh.com.
