Annette Patties Mixon

Funeral services for Drumright resident, Annette Mixon, were held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the First Assembly of God Church in Cushing with Bishop Gregory Davis of Tulsa officiating. Interment followed in the Drumright Oak Hill Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.

Annette Petties-Mixon was born in Cushing, on July 23, 1963, to Marthel (Brown) Petties and the late Raymond James Petties Sr. She passed from this life in Tulsa on April 22, 2013, at the age of 49 years, 8 months and 30 days. Annette was raised in Cushing and was a graduate of Cushing High School. She moved to Drumright in 1981 where she remained the rest of her life. She married Hunter M. Mixon II on June 17, 1985 and during this union a son, Hunter M. “Trey” Mixon III, whom was the joy of her life, was born. Annette liked to paint, play softball, basketball and sing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church North in Cushing where she also served as director of the choir. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt  and friend to all whom she met.  She will be missed by many. Annette was faced with immense tragedy when her son Trey died unexpectedly in 2009. Only her strong faith helped her endure. She was also preceded in death by her father: Raymond J. Petties Sr.; and three sisters: Helen Maric English, Doris Roberta Johnson and Phyllis Franscine Petties.

She is survived by her mother: Marthel Petties of Stillwater; two brothers, Lewis Moses and Rev. Raymond J. Petties Jr., both of Stillwater; three sisters, Patricia Reese of Oklahoma City, Erma Eolija Petties of Texas, Francis Mitchell Petties-Jenson of California; a beloved cousin: Loretta Gantt of Drumright; three aunts, Thelma Leitch and Opal Gardner, both of California; Lillie Pearl Lewis of Stillwater, uncle, Michael Q. Hennix of California. Also, there are several additional Nieces, Nephews, other Relatives and loving friends.
