Harold “Bud” Gray

Harold “Bud” Gray, 80, of Stillwater, was reunited with his parents, Leo and Thelma, and sister Millie on March 6. Visitation will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Strode Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Owen Cayton officiating. Harold will be escorted to the cemetery by the Patriot Guard Riders. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the service.

Harold, better known as Bud to family and friends, was drafted into the Air Force in 1953. He served in the Air Force in the nuclear weapons field for 22 years retiring as a nuclear weapons superintendent. In 1974, the family moved to Stillwater, where Bud began his civilian career at Oklahoma State University as a researcher in the agronomy department. He retired from the university in 1996.

He enjoyed  life outdoors, working in the yard, golfing and fishing. His passions were his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bud was diagnosed with terminal cancer in May 2012, and fought a couragous fight to the end.

Bud is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn; children, Sheri and Kevin; grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicole, Madeleine, Katherine, Madison and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Kennedy and Ainsley and Jameson Colt Reynolds.
